DAY 14: INTIMATE FASTING & FITNESS

DIVINE STRENGTH IN DISCIPLINE

It is day fourteen and we are getting closer to the end and I want us to embrace and dive into the divine strength and discipline as you progress through your intimate fasting and fitness. This discipline is more than just a test of willpower; it's a spiritual exercise that helps you become closer to God. As you abstain from physical food, you become more aware of the sustenance found in God's Word. Your physical workouts become acts of worship, with each rep demonstrating the tenacity He instills in you. This path of discipline is a mirror that reflects the Lord's unwavering love, which guides us in self-control and endurance. Listen for His voice, experience His presence, and know that your strength is replenished, just as the eagle's is. Allow this heavenly discipline to serve as the foundation for a deeper, more intimate relationship.

"So with that being said, God does not give a spirit to be timid or of stupidity but of love and a sound mind. There is so much grace in His love for us. Being disciplined is a part of trusting God with our lives and believing that He has us at all times. In the quiet moments of our fast, when the world is still and our stomachs growl for attention, we find a sacred space to commune with our Creator. It is here, in the discipline of denial, that we discover the profound depths of His love. The discipline of fasting strips away the nonessentials, focusing our hearts on the essentials of faith, hope, and love. It is a journey inward, to the core of our being, where we encounter the divine presence that whispers truths into the recesses of our souls.

This discipline is not a punishment; it is a pathway to peace. It is the road less traveled in a world that often equates discipline with deprivation. Yet, in the kingdom of God, discipline is the doorway to delight. It is the process through which we are refined, our desires aligned with His, and our wills surrendered to the Almighty’s perfect plan.

As we engage in this fitness and fasting journey, let us remember that our strength does not come from the food we abstain from, nor from the muscles we build, but from the God who calls us His own. He is the source of our power, the architect of our discipline, and the sustainer of our souls. In every act of self-control, every moment of physical exertion, we are drawn closer to the One who embodies strength itself. Therefore, let us approach our fast with joy, knowing that each step taken in discipline is a step taken in divine companionship. Let us trust in the Lord with all our hearts, leaning not on our own understanding, and in all our ways acknowledge Him. For in doing so, we shall not only build our bodies but also fortify our spirits, becoming beacons of His light in a world that desperately needs His love."

This addition should help complete your devotional with a focus on the spiritual benefits of discipline in the context of fasting and fitness.

Spiritual Awareness

3 Scriptures To Mediate On And Questions To Ask Yourself

Spiritual awareness in this context is about acknowledging the divine strength that underpins our discipline. It’s realizing that our ability to maintain self-control and perseverance during fasting and fitness is not solely a personal achievement, but a grace bestowed upon us by God. This awareness invites us to see each act of discipline not just as a step towards physical and spiritual health, but as an act of worship and a deepening of our relationship with the Lord. It encourages us to seek His guidance in moments of weakness and to give thanks in moments of strength, recognizing that every part of our journey is shared with Him.

2 Timothy 1:7

Hebrews 12:11

1 Corinthians 9:27

Scripture #1: How might adopting God's spirit of power, love, and self-discipline improve your approach to life's challenges?

2 Timothy 1:7

“For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-discipline.”

Scripture #2: How have you experienced the quiet fruit of righteousness as a result of perseverance in discipline? What plans have you created that need the Lord's directions?

Hebrews 12:11

For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.

Scripture #3: What strategies help you discipline your body and keep it under control, and how do they relate to your spiritual beliefs?

1 Corinthians 9:27

“But I discipline my body and keep it under control, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified.”

Closing Prayer:

Dear Heavenly Father

Today, I rejoice in You and all that You have in store for me. Thank you for this day and all it has to offer. Today is the day You have made, and I will be glad and rejoice in it. You are incredible, and I am grateful for the opportunity to place my heart in Your hands. Please carry me through all of my life's transitions. I hope for the opportunity to grow in a lovely partnership with You that will last an eternity. Allow Your business to grow in my life and make it visible to others so they can notice it as well for the Kingdom of Heaven. I adore and love You, and I pray for Your provision, protection, power, and presence in my life. Allow me to be the leader in my family who will influence future generations to come. I pray for all of this to be covered in the blood of Jesus.

In Jesus Christ's name, Amen.
